So begins my post-Facebook life. Tomorrow I will deactivate my account and venture out into the unknown. My goal is to make this a much bigger deal than it really is which is what I’m doing right now. The question is will I survive without Facebook? The answer is yes. This really isn’t going to be that difficult but there are still some things to consider:
I’ve had Facebook since 2005 and I would assume that I have been on the site just about every day since then. There were a few weeks and weekends obviously where I actually pretended to have a life and had no access, but most days since 2005 I have been on Facebook. When you put that in perspective it’s a pretty sad realization. So what could I have spent my time on instead of Facebook all these years? Will I just go to other websites or watch more TV or will I maybe try and do something productive?
Another thing I’m curious about is how many of those 584 friends on Facebook will I remain in touch with? My guess is maybe, at best, 10% of them so another question I have is which of my friends is .4 of one person?
I hope many of you can take this ride with me and we’ll see where it goes. Hopefully having this blog will force me to go out and try new things.
i am going to negate your efforts by sharing every blog post on facebook
